At n8n Builder, we collect several types of information to provide and improve our service:

1.3 Content Data

When you use our Chrome extension and web service, we collect and store:

  • Workflows created and generated through the extension and web interface
  • Workflow descriptions, configurations, and metadata you provide
  • n8n workflow JSON data and associated parameters
  • User-generated content related to workflow automation

1.4 Chrome Extension Data

Our Chrome extension collects and stores the following data locally and on our servers:

  • Browser session data stored locally using Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage.local)
  • Extension settings and user preferences
  • Authentication tokens and session identifiers for service access
  • Temporary clipboard data when you copy workflows (cleared after use)
  • Extension interaction data and usage patterns

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes:

  • To personalize your experience and deliver content relevant to your interests

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share your data with trusted third parties when necessary to operate our service or comply with legal obligations.

3.1 Service Providers

We work with a limited set of third-party service providers who assist us in delivering our services. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services. Service providers have access to your information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

  • Stripe: We use Stripe for payment processing. When you make a purchase, your payment information (credit card details, billing address) is processed and stored by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. Stripe has access to your email address and payment information solely for processing transactions.
  • Cerebras Systems: We use Cerebras Systems infrastructure to host and run the GLM-4.6 open-source language model for workflow generation. When you request workflow generation, your workflow descriptions, configurations, and related content data are processed by Cerebras Systems to generate workflows. This data is processed temporarily during generation and is not stored by Cerebras Systems after processing.
  • Hosting Providers: Your account information, workflow data, and usage data are stored on secure cloud infrastructure. This includes email addresses, account credentials (encrypted), workflow JSON data, and usage statistics. All data is stored in data centers located in Berlin, Germany, in compliance with GDPR requirements.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information when required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

3.3 Business Transfers

If n8n Builder is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

Specifically: Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal compliance. Workflow data is retained as long as you maintain an active account. Upon account deletion, your data is removed from active systems within 30 days, though backup copies may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. These measures include encryption in transit, restricted access controls, and regular security assessments.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Storage Location

Your personal information and workflow data are stored in secure data centers located in Berlin, Germany. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and European data protection standards.

Browser session data, including authentication tokens and extension preferences, are stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage mechanisms (chrome.storage.local). This local data remains on your device and is only transmitted to our servers when necessary for authentication and service functionality.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside of your country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal limitations)
